Job Description:

Are you good at finding bugs? Can you do it quickly? Do you find satisfaction in breaking software; not because you hate software, but because you want to deliver a rock-solid product? Can you get the message through to developers that their code isn’t as reliable as they thought without causing strife? Can you design and build a test system for network-enabled smart software and hardware products? Including automation? Want a chance to prove it?

Here’s your chance. Your chance to make a big contribution to the next generation of DSP audio processing systems. Your chance to become a part of a small design and development team that builds, from the ground up, the next industry-standard products. You will enjoy seeing these products used all over the world, knowing you have directly contributed to their success.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Write test plans and test cases for distributed systems that encompass Windows, Linux, OSX, and embedded firmware applications. Execute those test cases to discover if the product meets its functional, reliability, and performance requirements
  • Assure application quality and adherence to product requirements by being a testing advocate during all steps in the product development lifecycle
  • Document software and firmware defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to the development team
  • Design, implement, document, and maintain test tools and scripts used to perform build verification tests and regression tests
  • Apply black-box, functional and exploratory testing, and other approaches as needed to quickly discover and characterize bugs
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Come up with new and creative ways to break our software and hardware systems

  • B.S. in computer science or related field with some CS coursework
  • 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance testing
  • Strong knowledge of current software QA methodologies, tools and processes
  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Expertise with common software tools for requirements management, test plan management, and bug/regression tracking (e.g. JIRA)
  • Hands-on experience with both white-box and black-box testing
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience testing network enabled products
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to listen and understand complex issues
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in time-sensitive situations
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision, a self-starter

Nice to have:

  • Experience or interest in testing audio products and learning how they are used by our customers
  • Experience installing operating systems and configuring test PCs/VMs
  • Experience testing on tablets and mobile devices (Windows, Android and iOS)
  • Experience with network and audio cabling
  • Experience making cabling and using test fixtures to test electronic components
  • Experience debugging networking issues
  • Experience with web testing
  • Experience with driver testing on Windows and Mac OS
  • Experience with localization testing
